PARANOID, a blockchain-based system developed by the U.S Navy, is being offered to private sector organizations for collaborative research and development. Originally designed to protect avionics software, PARANOID ensures software security by validating files using blockchain technology at every stage of development. Any attempts to tamper with the software during development would be detected by the PARANOID blockchain, creating an immutable record of all actions taken by developers. The U.S Navy’s decision to open up PARANOID to private sector organizations is aimed at furthering its study and development. It’s worth noting that the Navy has previously explored blockchain technology through its partnerships with SIMBA Chain, a data exchange that safeguards supply lines.
