PolkaPort East Receives Web3 Foundation Grant to Accelerate Polkadot Adoption in the Asian Market

Date:

PolkaPort East, an autonomous organization responsible for leading the growth strategies and investor relations of Polkadot in Hong Kong and the Greater Bay Area, has received a grant from Web3 Foundation. This Decentralized Futures (DF) grant, the first of its kind given to an Asian organization, aims to support the technical, community, and wider ecosystem adoption of Polkadot, as well as contribute to its decentralization efforts.

The grant will play a crucial role in helping PolkaPort East achieve its goals of driving Polkadot’s regional expansion and establishing investor connections. It will also serve as a significant driver of capital into the ecosystem and work towards promoting Polkadot and its revolutionary technology.

Max Rebol, co-founder of PolkaPort East and CEO of Harbour Industrial Capital, a venture capital fund focused on Polkadot, expressed his excitement about the DF grant, emphasizing the positive impact it will have on the growth of Polkadot.

David Hawig, Director of Ecosystem at Web3 Foundation, highlighted the importance of supporting organizations like PolkaPort East in their efforts to expand the Polkadot ecosystem and foster decentralization.

Vincent Chan, the third co-founder of PolkaPort East and a former employee of Parity Technologies, explained that the main objective of the initiative is to attract users to the Polkadot ecosystem across Asia. This includes a wide range of stakeholders such as web3 investors, Polkadot-native venture capital firms, funds, and capital allocators, as well as projects and developers looking to leverage the capabilities of Polkadot. Furthermore, the initiative aims to engage with fintech companies interested in entering the web3 space, local governments exploring blockchain applications, and Asian university blockchain collectives and associations.

Overall, the DF grant from Web3 Foundation will enable PolkaPort East to drive the adoption and decentralization of Polkadot in Asia, and establish valuable connections within the region’s investor and blockchain communities.
