Open Deep Search (ODS), a milestone in open-source AI, has been launched by decentralized AI developer Sentient. Open Deep Search improves the capabilities of Sentient Chat, a powerful, user-friendly chatbot with a 1.75 million+ waitlist that can surpass Perplexity. Now, Sentient Chat will start using ODS to provide unparalleled AI search capabilities. Sentient Chat’s agentic ecosystem, which lets users access agents directly for certain use cases, will benefit from this.
Sentient has chosen to make ODS an open-source technology in line with its goal of democratizing access to AI. With its release, Open Deep Search surpasses Perplexity in search and reasoning capabilities, becoming the first open-source search AI to do so. ODS surpasses both Perplexity and Perplexity Sonar Reasoning Pro, and it was first presented to more than 1500 crypto and AI native developers at the Open AGI Summit at ETH Denver.
ODS’s proficiency with multi-reasoning questions is confirmed by industry-standard benchmarks like FRAMES. Additionally, it does well on SimpleQA benchmarks that evaluate a model’s capacity to respond to brief queries with straightforward, factual responses, matching OpenAI search.
ODS demonstrates that open-source AI is capable of competing with closed-source technologies in terms of search level and reasoning architecture. With its debut, web3 developers now have a strong foundation upon which they can build complex apps that creatively use AI.
